August 5: Club Conversation

We had a Club Committee Conversation Day to discuss priorities for each of our Committees and present to the club for discussion.
 
Our Club Committees are as follows:
  • Outreach (Chair: Cindy Kennedy)
  • Flags (Chair: Jerry Alford)
  • Marketing (Chair: Wendy Adkins)
  • Membership / RYLA (Chair: Brian Murrell)

Outreach

Goals

  • Coordinate in-house service projects
  • Weekly donations to local food charitable organizations

Priorities

  • 2nd Tuesday of Every Month: donations for Shepherd's Storehouse and Lovepacs
  • Researching options to assist HOPE Ministries
  • Recommend service projects and volunteer opportunities to the club
  • Two LovePacs packing days: one fall, one spring

Steps for considering projects

  1. Club member presents project to committee member
  2. Committee discusses within two week period & makes recommendation
Emergency projects can be considered without 2 week notice. If it is a speaker requesting assistance with a project, the person responsible for booking the speaker should present the need to the committee three weeks prior to speaker date.

Marketing

Goals

  • Increase visibility of club
  • Increase awareness of Rotary initiatives
  • Welcoming community to club
  • Make it cool to be in Rotary

Priorities

  • Event Participation throughout 377 Corridor - Pilot Point, Aubrey, Krugerville, Tioga. If a member already plans to have a booth promoting their business, having additional marketing materials promoting Rotary will be appropriate.
  • Quarterly Digital and Print Ads discussing recent service projects or informing regarding Rotary's missions
  • Continued digital marketing efforts
  • Speaking engagements
  • Additional print materials: nice brochures, pop-up banner for meeting days, etc.

Membership

Goals

  • Coordinate RYLA with High School Counselors
  • Help recruit new members and keep existing members engaged

Priorities

  • Quarterly New Member Orientation on Rotary Initiatives
  • Survey Members
  • Handle New Member Presentations
  • Recognize members with awards for attendance and volunteering in the community
