Aubrey Independent School District and Pilot Point Independent School District High School students attended the weekly Rotary meeting on November 12 as our Seniors of the Month.

Aubrey High School Students

We were graced by Royalty at this week's Rotary Meeting!

From Aubrey High School, Jacob Gonzalez and Dayzee Tovar were elected as Homecoming King and Queen last month.

Jacob has a strong photojournalism interest, something he wants to pursue in college at UNT. He works for the Pilot Point Post-Signal, providing images of Aubrey athletics and beyond. His Hometown Hero is his dad, who pushes him to excel in his interests.

Dayzee is involved in FFA, showing primarily lambs. She was Reserve Grand Champion overall and Grand Champion in Breed at the State Fair of Texas this year. She also serves as Class President and is in the Beta Club and National Honor Society. She travels around the state, teaching showmanship clinics and discussing the importance of agriculture to the economy, and plans to attend Texas A&M to major in ag leadership and development and minor in agricultural communications.

Pilot Point High School Students

Both Pilot Point students are constantly on the move - literally.

Braillen was an integral part of the district champion Lady Bearcats Cross Country team, competing in the state cross country meet November 1. She also plays volleyball, runs track and plays basketball. She considers coach Jeff Price as her Hometown Hero, as he constantly pushes her to be her best. She plans to attend college to study kinesiology to become a physical therapist.

Bennett serves as the President of both the senior class and National Honor Society. He also competes in cross country, runs the 800-meter dash on the track team and also participates in band. He is focusing on academic and athletic scholarships for post-high school, and currently is second in his class.
