Our guest speaker this week will be Shelley Hill, Major Gifts Officer with The Rotary Foundation. She is based in the Dallas area and offers ways for clubs to apply for grants to support its projects.
Membership Drive
Through the end of the year, we will be having a Membership Drive! We were challenged by our District Governor Andy Eads during his visit last month to come up with names of people who might be interested in attending a Rotary meeting, and Membership Chair Penni Moening is challenging all of us!
Step 1: Remember the names that you listed
Step 2: Invite them to an upcoming meeting
Step 3: REPEAT!
There will be PRIZES to the Rotarian who brings the most guests and invites the most new members between now and December 17!
Other Rotary Business
We elected Maureen Haverty as a member of our club! Welcome Maureen!
We will be doing a booth setup at Scare on the Square on October 26. If you wish to assist with this, please contact Whitney Delcourt!
The Fall Sweep will be November 9. We do have a section of US-377 that seems to be maintained, but if anyone would like to get a group together to volunteer elsewhere, clean up will begin at 8:30 am and dispatched from Groff Park. If you are needing additional information about what is accepted for your own clean up needs, check out the Facebook event.
November 11 is our next Flag Holiday. We need to have all flags out by the previous Friday, November 8!
We are the sponsor of the November Gab n Grub, put on by Pilot Point Neighborhood Events on Friday, November 15! We need as many Rotarians to attend as possible in their Rotary t-shirts. This event is on the Square or (in case of bad weather) at Pilot Point Coffee House.
