This week, we'll have Seniors from Pilot Point and Aubrey High Schools! Come hear from these tremendous students and their goals for the future. Lunch will be provided.
At the Pilot Point Chamber banquet over the weekend, the Lake Ray Roberts Rotary Club honored Officer Andy Biggs and Fire Marshal Adam Smith with the Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year awards.

Pictured is Officer Biggs with Chamber Vice President Tracy Glover, Lt. Preston Green, Chamber Director Evon Lusk, Chamber President Jimerson Adkins and Rotary President Whitney Delcourt.

Adam Smith was unable to attend the banquet, as he was out on deployment fighting fires in West Texas. Fire Chief Heath Hudson accepted the award on his behalf.

Other Rotary Business

In our discussion on Tuesday regarding the Flag Program, the following ideas were established:
  • The Marketing Committee will be working to update the flyer, setting up email blasts and arranging for additional digital advertising.
  • Each Flag Team will have a Coordinator, who will be responsible for contacting unpaid subscribers and verifying information within Helping with Flags to ensure it is up to date. If you are interested in being the coordinator for a Flag team, contact Whitney Delcourt.
  • The following routes need extra assistance this flag year: A3 (new route headed by Abigail Allen and Maureen Haverty), C1 (Dwayne Edwards) and D (Greg Pelzel). If you are interested in helping these teams out, reach out to Jerry Alford for exact needs.
  • At the end of this year, we will be doing a full-scale update of our Flag Subscribers, so it is paramount that our Flag Team Coordinators go through their routes and ensure all information is up to date. Any subscribers that have not paid at the end of this year will be deleted from our system.
  • Lenette Cox has effectively retired from handling the digital side of the Flag Program. Wendy Adkins has taken on this role. As new subscribers and payments come in, she will be updating their status in Helping With Flags. Jerry Alford will still be working to maintain the flag supplies and arranging for Flag Work Days.

We will be electing Janice Sheppard as a member in our Club. Janice is a newer member of our community but has integrated herself in the arts community, showing artwork at the Coffee House and volunteering at other organizations around town.

At next week's Rotary meeting, we will be packing boxes for our Lovepacs donation. See the SignUp Genius for items needed and input your items you will be bringing and we will help some local school children have a wonderful Spring Break!
